Chatting with an assistant with HiTA on Canvas works much the same way that it does on the full HiTA app.
The default view on the embedded HiTA app is a chat interface which allows you to query the knowledge base curated by your instructor for the course. There are a few notable differences in functionality that are mentioned below.
The modules and lessons component in the navbar does not work the same way that it does on the full HiTA app in that clicking on it will open the lesson. Clicking on it in Canvas will instead focus the current conversation on that resource.
Future chats will be focused on that resource. You can swap the resource focus by clicking on a different file, or you can clear the focus by starting a new chat.
The full HiTA app has other features that are not available in the embedded Canvas version like screen sharing and resource upload in conversations. It also currently exposes the chat interface: HiTA has other features like activities and module/lesson viewing.
